FiberComb®
The FiberComb® system stretches single DNA molecules onto specially-treated glass surfaces, a procedure called Molecular Combing.
The FiberComb® system stretches single DNA molecules onto specially-treated glass surfaces, a procedure called Molecular Combing. Stretching is achieved by the receding air-liquid meniscus which results in extension and parallel alignment of DNA molecules. The system is designed to perform Molecular Combing in an easy, optimal and reproducible manner.
Features:
• Enables precise and direct measurements along the length of the DNA molecules
• The total automated procedure takes only 10 minutes
• Long (up to 2Mb) single DNA molecules are irreversibly attached to a glass surfaces
• DNA extremities are not chemically modified, assuring better integrity of the genome
